This is how it all began.

Chapter 1: The best day ever

Sean's Point of view:

It was a dark and stormy night.  It was actually, it rained quite a bit that

night. It was a Thursday. I was sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings with a friend.

My friend, We'll call him Lee (because that was his name), suggested we all go

to the Dock's alternative night (at a nightclub).  I didn't want to go, I'd

been a few times before and as much fun as it was, I just wasn't in the mood

that night. After a bit of coercion from Lee (and a couple other friends), I reluctantly

decided to go.

~Jen:     "It doesn't need to be that wordy Sean."
~Sean:  "I need to explain what happened in excessive detail, you'll
have your chance after I'm done."
~Jen:     "Um, ok, you really don't need that much detail, but continue
                   if you must."
~Sean:  "Thank you Jen; So anyway..."

So there we were driving to the Dock in a car (well, I wasn't driving, my

friend was driving, I was riding in the backseat) and we pulled into a parking

spot (in front of the club).

    ~Jen:      "Sean!"
    ~Sean:   "Oh, Sorry..."

So, I was standing with a beer chatting to a group of people and I saw this

beautiful, sexy woman talking to a different group.  I tapped her on the

shoulder and said, "hey, come here".  So she did.  The end.

~Jen:      "Oh...Kay...  Is that seriously how you're gonna end it?"
~Sean:   "What? I think the rest of the story is kinda obvious, love at
first sight, Sean's freakin' awesome... ya'know."
~Jen:      "What have I gotten myself into?"
    ~Sean:   "... a non-refundable deposit on the reception."
~Jen:      "You're cute, let me tell my side now... and watch how easy it is."

Jen's Point of view:

Thursday night - October 14th 2011.  I got dolled up, put my boots on and went

dancing.  Had previously met Sean a couple weeks before at the Dock, but we

didn't speak much as I was busy dancing.  Saw Sean again and we hit it off

immediately (despite his lame pick-up skills, AND FORGETTING MY NAME).  He

asked me out.  Three days later we had our first date.  Done.

~Jen:       "There, see how easy that was?"
~Sean:    "Yea but how did you get to the club?"
    ~Jen:       ".............wow."

Chapter 2:  The first date

Sean's P.O.V. (I got tired of typing Point of View.):

I took her to the classiest restaurant in town and then to a beautiful park at

sunset.  Balla!

I sang and played the guitar for her. I was a rock-GOD.  My awesome vocals

were meshing with my sweet guitar licks and I could see in her eyes that she

was impressed.  I'm pretty sure the wind picked up and blew my shirt open and

then flocks of doves flew down to listen to my incredible melodies. Heck, at

the end of it all the doves were crying and a rainbow appeared.

      She loved it.

Then, like, I totally, got to kiss her.

~Jen:     "Okay, that's not exactly what happened."
      ~Sean:  "...Well, that's how I remember it."
      ~Jen:     "You would."

Jen's Point of view:

So on Sunday we had our first date.  He took me to Gold Star Chili (he shelled

out like 20 bucks), then to Spring Grove cemetery (free, btw) around 4 (still

totally sunny out). Afterwards we went back to his place and he played his

acoustic guitar for me and sang some song about zombies being in love.

      It was ok.

Okay, it was a good song but there were no doves and rainbows don't appear

at night... in your bedroom.  He finally found the nerve to kiss me after missing

almost every one of my cues throughout the day.  It was a lovely day.

       ~Sean:  "Mine sounded better."

Chapter 3: Explosions and Ninjas

       ~Jen:     "What?"
       ~Sean:  "I don't know, It sounded dramatic"

Chapter 3: Our new house

Sean's P.O.V.:

After finding a house for rent online we liked, we checked it out and then

rented it.

Jen's Point of view:

      Yep.

Chapter 4: The Proposal

Sean's P.O.V.:

I knew I wanted to marry Jen the day I met her.  After dating for a while, I

couldn't contain my feelings for her any longer.  I knew I had to ask her to

marry me immediately and nothing could stop me.  Then I realized I was broke.

A month later I had the money saved for a ring.  I went to Kay Jewelers at the

mall (because that's the only jewelry store I knew about) and found the

perfect ring.  It was a modest ring, granted, though what it represented was

priceless. I bought it, and prepared for my next step.

A month went by with the ring in my trunk, I was so nervous someone would

steal my car (yeah, my bright neon yellow car).

The day I proposed to my love, I took her to Newport on the levee.  I wanted

to propose to her at the Aquarium.  "It'll be so romantic!" I told myself.  With

all the colors and fish and sea otters? and stuff.  I was so nervous.  As we

were walking toward the aquarium I said, "Babe, let's go to the aquarium." and

Jen said, "We can't, it's too expensive".

So I bought her a funnel cake instead.

As she was eating the funnel cake,  I got down on one knee and pulled out the

ring.  She was so surprised, and said (with a face full of funnel cake), "Are

you kidding? ...of course, Bubby!".  She let me put the ring on her finger and

then went back to the funnel cake.

     She made me so happy.

     It was a beautiful moment.

Oh! I also made her a balloon animal (not important, just impressed with

myself)
.

Jen's Point of view:

I, of course, had no idea he was going to propose.  After months of him arguing

the merits of NOT getting married (to throw me off track), I resigned myself

to the thought of us never getting married.  I had always envisioned myself a

beautiful bride celebrating with family and friends and a handsome and kind

husband by my side.  For weeks leading up to the proposal, Sean would

repeatedly and randomly say, "I've been meaning to ask you....will you be my

girlfriend?"

I would always say yes (I had some suspicion that this was leading to "will you

marry me?", but I wasn't 100% sure).

I thought we were just going on a leisurely trip down to the Levee, and

expected nothing special.  Now, as I think back on it, I feel bad I argued that the

aquarium was too expensive.  While it would have been a beautiful setting for

a proposal, the wrought-iron bench I sat upon, surrounded by Levee patrons,

was just as beautiful a scene as any.

I knew the minute I met Sean that he was my handsome, kind husband-to-be.

We are a perfect pair and we were meant to be in each other’s lives.  I'm so

thankful I found Sean and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.

~Sean:  "I love you... whatsyourname? um, uh,  I know it starts with a 'J'."
~Jen:     "I love you too, Sean.  Ya Joik."

     To be continued....  ;)
